18th GCC eGovernment and eServices Conference Kicks off Today


Organized by Datamatix, the 18th GCC eGovernment and eServices Conference, kicks off today and is being held at Ritz Carlton Hotel, DIFC in Dubai UAE this year. Attended by regional and global VIPs, decision makers from government, business and international institutions this conference has become one of the largest eGovernment Conference in the world.

The conference was attended by more than 500 participants regionally and globally and addressed by National and International speakers.

The conference started off with a brief welcome message from Mr. Ali Al Kamali, Managing Director of Datamatix. He stressed that, “Over the years, this conference has established itself as one of the largest eGovernment conference in the world and one of the most important events in the calendar of regional and global eGovernment professionals. The conference serves as a platform for industry experts, key government representatives, and academics from various countries to convene and create a structure for exceptional eGovernment models and devise winning e-Government strategies, which will increase administrative productivity, efficiency and greater transparency.”

The event started off with a presentation by Dr. Ahmed Saeed Salem Bin Hezeem, Director General of Dubai Courts, followed by eGovernment case study by Dr. Abdulla Reyes, PhD, Director General at National Center for Documentation and Research. The case study presentation was succeeded with the release of much awaited 2012 eMaturity report that measures and benchmarks GCC success and challenges by  Mr. Salem Mohammed Al-Housani, Deputy Director of Emirates Government.

The presentation of Mr. Patrick Ronald Schwerdtfeger, Author and Public Speaker for USA highlighted about Global eGovernance Mega trends that creates and institutionalizes a culture of open government. The presentation of Dr. Boyd Hendricks, Managing Director of Information land UK, and Netherlands stressed on Unified GCC eGovernment about the lessons learned from the EU. The event concluded with a case study presentation on Saudi Arabia Ministry of Labour e-Government by H.E. Eng. Abdullah Bin Muhammed Al Haqabani, Undersecretary for Planning and Development of Ministry of Labor KSA.

The 5-day event congregates Global organizations and technological institutions, regional and global VIPs, federal and state government representatives, eGovernment executives, CIOs, decision makers from government, business and international institutions and IT experts from around the world and many others, as well as regional media.
